Parkgate Tavern, Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill

This pub was named after a gate in the Abbott of Coventry's hunting park of Whitmore Park. There are tales of the premises being used as a hospital for soldiers returning from the Crimean War. The first mention of this pub in Lockhurst Lane, Foleshill, is c1745. The license was transferred in 1910 to the Parkgate Hotel in Parkgate Road.
