City, 5 Cook Street (Dowse)

Address:5 Cook Street
Became:Holly Bush
In the 1871 census Thomas Dowse is a licensed victualler at the Queens Arms, 48 Primrose Hill Street. The move to a more central location must have been an improvement, although the adoption of a beerhouse license may indicate some problems for a short period. This appears to have had a beerhouse license for a short time. It had a full public house license from 1822 to 1940.
