In January 1867 Henry Scampton became sole dealer for the Imperial Wine Company at his High Street premises, where for some years he had been a grocer and tea and provision dealer.
George Turnbull eventually took over the premises in 1890, but some time after 1896 he appears to have given up the wine and spirit trade and reverted to groceries and provisions, where he, or at least the Turnbull name, remained until at least 1937.
