Coach and Horses, Thomas Street
This appears in a directory of 1868. It is probably an error for the COACHMAKERS ARMS. This was a common pub name since the seventeenth century. It indicates a stopping place for Hackney carriages and later stage-coaches and was an indication of the growth of traffic on the roads. |
