Half Moon, Street not known, Without Spon Bars

A Coventry Constables' Presentments reference dated February 1721 shows (in the language of the day) that a summons was issued to 'Mr. Edson att Halfe Moon for a broken peavment before his close at his back geat'. However, we cannot establish the exact location of the pub. The nearest pub of the same name was in Hertford Place. Last mention was in the Coventry Standard, 16th December 1859 when it was used for an auction.

The half moon can be a symbol of love and romance, and also a symbol of hope and new beginnings.
