La Hyve Inn, Smithford Street
This inn is mentioned in a grant of 1451 by Willaim Derset to William Derset senior of a property opposite the inn called LA HYVE.
In modern spelling this would be the HIVE, or Beehive.
Circa 1496 the Dorsets (Dersets) were owners of the Halfe Mone Inn in Smithford Street. |
