This name simply refers to the semi rural nature of the pubs setting.

Until 1st December 1983 it was the STANDARD HOTEL. From the outside it looked like a 1950s church hall or community centre - completely unremarkable. The inside was decorated with a country theme.
The pub was demolished in 2012 and replaced with a small housing estate. | |||
