Smithford St, c1900
Smithford Steet around the turn of the 20th century. This pub is the short building just the other side of Swain & Son on the left.
On the right can more clearly be seen the Old Baths Hotel.
In 1756 three soldiers were billeted here. Although the location was referred to as High Street, this was a street name often used for the whole length of Coventry's east-west route, and almost certainly was this pub's location in Smithford Street. The name of Flower-de-Luce was mentioned in the Coventry Standard in February 1765.
