In the 1841 census George Tandy is 45, with no occupation given, living in New Street. In 1851 he is 58, a victualler in Cook Street, and in 1861 he is 68 and a proprietor of houses in Cox Street. In 1850 and 1851 George Tandy was running the Crown in Cook Street.
