In the 1841 census Samuel Brown is 25 and an engine turner in Sherbourne Street. In 1851 he is 40 and an innkeeper and watchmaker in Sherborne Street. In 1861 he is 50 and an innkeeper in Craven Street and in 1871 there are no matching records. This was the SHAMROCK, 42 Sherbourne Street, as Samuel Brown was licensee there in 1850 and 1851. He is also recorded at the Three Crowns ( also a beerhouse ), Gosford Street, in 1850 and the New Inn, Craven Street, in 1861.
