In the 1841 census John Smith, 40, is a ribbon weaver married to Martha Smith, also 40, with no occupation. In 1851 Jonathan Smith, 28, is a hand weaver and beer house keeper in Little Heath. His mother, Martha Smith, 52, is a widow and a silk winder. In 1861 Jonathan Smith, 37, is a beer house keeper and maltster at the ROYAL HOTEL, Foleshill. By 1871 he is 48 and a brewer residing at 42 High Street, Foleshill, with a son, Jonathan, 20, also a brewer. | |||
