Beechwood Sandpits La This is a Grade II listed building, described as follows - 18th century brickwork encasing an earlier timber-framed hall, altered in the 16th or 17th century by the insertion of a first floor. Tiled roof of two parallel ridges, the taller 18th century ridge in front, the lower medieval roof ridge behind. Three triple light wood mullioned casement windows, two ground floor canted bay windows. Wattle and daub visible on the first floor interior. The Beechwood was managed by Harold Smith after leaving the Old Mill at Baginton in the 1960s. It was known as Beechwood House, a minor country house, but opened as a private hotel on 28th May 1969, and in 1996, under Mssrs Kutner and McKosker, gained a public bar.
