It was bought by Phipps of Northampton in 1903 for £2,125 from Mrs Sidwell. Cash was also paid for the brewing plant. The adjoining house was also bought from Mrs Picton for £330 and it was extended into the pub c1907 - 1914. This is a back street local, well away from the main Stoney Stanton Road.
