Harrow, Greyfriars Lane

Greyfriars Inn C1900 In 1720 this pub was part of a marriage settlement when it was settled by Joseph Ash of Coventry, a beer brewer, on his son Joseph Ash junior and Bridgett Burgess. In 1756 two soldiers were billeted here.

This is a common sign referring to the contrivance used to break up clods of earth, stir the earth, root up weeds and cover seeds etc., on farmland.
