Newlands Hotel, Tile Hill Lane

Alternative Addresses:Beech Tree Avenue
Newlands Hotel Newlands Modern I guess this name refers to new land opened up for farming at some time in the past. In 1929 the license of the White Swan, Hill Street, was surrendered for the removal of the license of the Spotted Dog, Butcher Row to new premises to be erected in Beech Tree Avenue. The pub opened in the following year. In 1979 it was 'A large modern local's pub' and in 1983 'A modern pub. Pleasant surroundings'.
