The only references to this pub we have found is the transfer of its license from Harriet Merridew to Thomas London in July 1864, and then a mention in the Coventry Standard in November 1864 of "Thomas Ludon, landlord of the Shamrock Green, Well-street, was charged with keeping open his house at half past 12 on Sunday night." He was only ordered to pay expenses, however, due to the well kept character of his house.
It is thought to have been at 5 Well Street, formerly the Graziers Arms and later The Rose.
The shamrock is the national emblem of Ireland. |
