Watchmakers Arms, Hill Street Place

This particular licensee was an enameller, whose job it was to paint the watch dials. In September 1829 this is listed as a new public house in the Coventry Herald. In 1837 John Webb advertises the pub for sale by auction and that he is declining public business.


Watchmaking was a common occupation in Coventry from the mid-18th century.
