In 1838 a house in Tower Street was for sale, which had been converted "at very considerable outlay" into a public house called the White Lion.
By 1844 an inquest was held at this house, now called the BEEHIVE. This is a heraldic reference to Edward IV, or the Earls of March or Duke of Norfolk. | |||
