Windmill, Henley Green
This pub was used to hold an inquest, reported in the Coventry Standard on the 29th June 1838.
In August 1855 the Coventry Times inaccurately reported the pub's location as Keresley Green.
The same newspaper, on 19th September 1855, reported that "Mr. Paggetter [sic], of the Windmill public-house" had his license temporarily withheld, but after being "cautioned as to the manner of conducting his house" the license was granted.
The last found mention of this pub was in July 1864 when the Coventry Herald announced the marriage of "Mr. George Underwood, of the Windmill public-house, Henley Green, Foleshill, to Mrs. Mary Pearson, of this City". This name probably marks the site or proximity of a former windmill. | |||
