'The Acorn' was on the corner of Cox Street and Jordan Well. The name is probably an allusion to the pub's small size. It was said to date back to the mid eighteenth century at its closure in 1961. The site on the corner of Cox Street and Jordan Well is now occupied by Coventry University.
