Black Dog, Street not known, Whitley

In 1772 following a murder at Binley Toll House, one of the suspects, Thomas Farn, went alone down the Whitley Road to the Black Dog Inn and afterwards home to Church Lawford. We have no other information on this pub.

The 'Black Dog of Arden' was Guy Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, in the early fourteenth century. He was one of those who plotted to kill Pier Gaveston, favourite of Edward II, in 1312. There is also a Black Dog in Southam.
