These premises have been known by different names during their history: | FROM | TO | NAME |
1861 | 1971 | NEW INN | |
1971 | present | CHESTNUT TREE | |
Until 1971 this was the NEW INN. The present name comes from the large chestnut tree in the back yard. In 1979 this was described as 'a trendy, comfy, pub' and in 1982 'a small popular pub in a good drinking area'.
