Cox Street 1910. In August 1911 the Coventry Herald and Weekly Advertiser printed a historic article from their own newspaper of 1812, which informs us that "Francis Webb, dyer, Gosford Street, near Whitefriars' Lane, Coventry, begs leave respectfully to return thanks to his friends and the public for the distinguished patronage he has met with during his residence at the King's Arms, Mill Lane". In 1855 the license was transferred to Charles Green Jun., and in 1861 he changed the pub's name to the ROBIN HOOD. The arms shown depend on the monarch the artist had in mind - a declaration of loyalty.
