Swan with Two Necks, Jordan Well

This pub is recorded in 1532 and 1534.

Two 'nicks' made in a swan's upper beak, one either side, was a sign that it belonged to the Worshipful Company of Vintners. The pub name often became corrupted to 'Swan with two necks'.
