Wheel Tavern, Street not known, Keresley
The earliest record found for this pub is a Coventry Herald advert in August 1829 for the brick-built cottage, the Wheel Tavern, To Let, belonging to William Camwell. His widow Catherine took over after he died in late 1840, but no records can be found for the pub after January 1844, although two years later the farm appears up for auction, with Mrs. Camwell leaving. During the pub's short time it played host to various village meetings. Usually associated with a nearby wheelwright's premises. | |||
