Samuel Dyke Armstrong opened this business in November 1836 with ARMSTRONG'S WINE AND SPIRIT VAULTS. The Wine and Spirit Vaults name appears to have continued under Josiah Overton until he passed the license to Mark Showell in August 1843, when it was under the name the LIQUOR SHOP, normally referred to as the LIQUOR VAULTS. | |||
