Beginning as the CROWN AND ANCHOR from at least 1748, and from around 1774 as the BULL AND ANCHOR, the name OLDE BULL AND ANCHOR (often only Old Bull and Anchor) only begins to appear in newspapers from January 1869, and continued with the name until the pub was declared redundant in July 1931.
An auction on Tuesday 8th March 1932 realised £1,000 for the pub, which was described as having vacant possession and suitable for conversion to a shop or club. | |||
