These premises have been known by different names during their history: | FROM | TO | NAME |

1858 | 2021 | OLD STAG | |
2024 | STAG AND HEN | ||
Having been the OLD STAG for many years, licensee Tony King had one final attempt to keep the pub viable in 2018, but it was short-lived.
On Friday 8th November 2024 Paul Curtis reopened this pub as the STAG AND HEN. The stag is a male red deer in its prime, i.e. in its fifth year. Most of the signs refer to hunts, stag hunting having been a favourite royal sport in the past. Occasionally it is a heraldic reference. | |||
